Diversity, Equity and Inclusion

Our global employee networks and Impact groups play a vital role in driving meaningful change and creating an environment where everyone at Haymarket can thrive. This commitment is reflected in our global initiatives, from mandatory DEI training, to our long-standing US internship programme and transparently advertising salaries on relevant vacancies.
A diverse, sustainable, equitable and inclusive workplace
Our unwavering commitment to being a sustainable, diverse, equitable, and inclusive business is deeply embedded in our culture. Our values of Respect and Integrity are fundamental to who we are and how we operate.
We remain ahead of the curve in recruitment transparency by continuing to advertise salaries for all roles, a practice we adopted in 2021. This approach, still rare among many of our industry peers, has helped us build trust with potential candidates. We are also proud members of Show the Salary in the UK, reinforcing our belief in fairness and pay equity.
Developing the next generation of talent
Diverse talent is crucial to our culture and success. Our longstanding apprenticeship programmes in the UK and internship programmes in the US continue to thrive, offering opportunities for emerging talent to gain valuable experience and build careers. Our 2025 intake of summer interns in the US has seen more than 20 bright individuals explore roles from marketing to editorial, to design.
Our entry-level recruits continue to help ensure we have fresh, diverse perspectives to help us remain relevant and drive the future of our business. This works hand in hand with our commitment to developing and promoting internal talent and ensuring the pipeline continues to grow and diversify by concentrating on apprenticeship schemes and cohorts, relevant to young people but also those looking to change careers or upskill.
All employees and new joiners receive mandatory DEI training as well as Impact Training, with follow-up action plans to ensure our impact initiatives are embedded into every role.

Dilveen Nagpal, Account Executive, Wonderly, said: “Starting out as an apprentice in Wonderly was both exciting but also challenging. It was a new environment for me and I wasn't sure what to expect, but I was eager to learn and get stuck in! From day one, I was able to learn and take on tasks independently, which really helped build my confidence. The support from my manager and colleagues was always pushing me to learn more and push myself.”
Alyssa Testaverde, Marketing Intern, Business Media Group (BMG), said: "My time interning at Haymarket Media has been an incredibly rewarding experience that has allowed me to develop both professionally and personally. The supportive environment and welcoming office culture at Haymarket has made me comfortable to share my ideas, contribute to projects, and build relationships with others who are well-versed in the field of marketing. Whether it be through sitting in on meetings, attending lunch-and-learns, or contributing to the general workload, I am constantly absorbing new information and stepping outside of my comfort zone.

An award-winning Disability Confident employer
Accessibility remains a key focus, including within our events and recruitment processes. Since achieving Disability Confident Level 2 accreditation in the UK, we have seen significant progress. In 2024, we received 99 applications through the scheme - an impressive 100% increase compared to the year before our accreditation. We have successfully placed 8 candidates into roles across the business, representing 11% of total hires during this period.
Our Disability Confident status has also positively influenced our internal culture. More employees now feel comfortable requesting reasonable workplace adjustments without fear of judgement. This change has been welcomed by our DEI networks - in particular Body & Mind, Neurodiversity, and Balance - as we continue to create an environment where all employees feel supported and valued.

Spotlight on: Campaign’s School Reports
Campaign’s School Reports continue to provide in-depth analysis and critiques of the leading agencies from across the industry. This includes educating audiences on the realities of diversity, equity, and inclusion within the industry. This year’s report highlights critical trends, including the widening of both gender and ethnicity pay gaps - rising to 12.4% in favour of men and 15.4% in favour of those who are not from ethnic minority backgrounds.
School Reports also uncovered a decline in the representation of ethnic minority staff in senior roles (from 14.5% to 13.4%) and across the permanent workforce (from 20.7% to 20%), marking the first rollback since Campaign began collecting data in 2019.
The date shows some progress too. Recruitment of entry-level staff from ethnic minority backgrounds improved from 41.9% in 2023 to 42.8% in 2024, and the representation of women in senior roles and across the workforce continued to grow - this now stands at 50.4% and 55.3%, respectively. By shining a light on these metrics, Campaign is sparking important conversations and driving accountability across the industry when it comes to being truly representative.
Chris Daniels, Chief Commercial Officer for Haymarket Automotive and Neurodiversity Network Spokesperson, said: “Our Neurodiversity Network brings together colleagues across the business, whether they’re neurodivergent themselves, support someone who is, or just want to learn more and get involved. It’s all about sharing ideas and helping each other thrive. We want to make sure anyone who needs support knows where to find it, so we work collaboratively with the People team to make sure the right tools and adjustments are in place - from manager training to our 'getting the best out of you' guidance for all employees - so people feel confident and comfortable at work. I’m proud to be the spokesperson for the Network and to see the difference it’s making as part of our wider diversity and inclusion commitments."
Rachael Prasher, Managing Director, Haymarket Automotive, said: "Launching Drivers of Change marked the first time Autocar celebrated diversity, equity, and inclusion at a brand level and one of the first events of its kind in the automotive industry. Inspired by the success of our Great Women initiative, we spent over two years refining the concept - we knew year one would be a lot of learning but the bigger risk was doing nothing. With the belief and backing of our partners, SMMT and Ennis & Co, we brought it to life, receiving close to 100 nominations and honouring 40 incredible individuals driving change in the industry."
